Interesting the idea that none of us really understand what we’re doing – I think it’s a bit more subtle, and the real reason is that unlike craftspeople in the physical world, we don’t have as much need to repeat ourselves and so we spent a lot more time working on new problems.

As for the idea that it takes a lot of self confidence to learn to code, I imagine it was lack of self confidence growing up that made me spent so much time sat in my room learning to code ;)
